has anyone heard of concentric pouch dilitation?
Not sure why your Doctor has recommenced diet pills, what I've read about Pouch dilation is to remove all saline and to rest the stomach.. I've included a few sites to visit in regards to pouch dilation.I hope this helps!

My surgeon sometimes prescribes appetite suppressants to help with hunger. Are you struggling to lose weight or maintain WL? If so, it may not be a bad thing. Did you get an unfill due to dilation?
I lost my band after 4 years due to dilation that wreaked the junction between my stomach pouch and esophagus. It's nothing to mess with. An unfill can help so hang in there.

YES, HEY HAVE TAKEN OUT 2CC YESTERDAY, I'VE LOST 90 LS SINCE MAY 2012, AND YES THEY HAVE NOW PUT ME ON APPETITE SUPPRESSANTS BUT I;M SO VERY NERVOUS ABOUT THIS. IT'S FUNNY THAT THIS IS SOMETHING THAT I HAVE NEVER HEARD OF THROUGH ALL OF THE CLASSES.
THE PA DIDNT TO GET INTO WHAT COULD HAPPEN, BUT ITS MAKING ME A NERVOUS WRECK.
GOD I HOPE THAT THIS WILL WORK.
I;M HOPING THAT YOU ARE OK AND HAVE BEEN STILL LOOSING WEIGHT ITS A LIFE LONG STRUGGLE.

Yes, I had a concentric pouch dilation in my first year of banding from it being filled too tightly, I lived with a pouch dilation for over 6 years. I was able to get restriction again, but it was not optimal restriction without reflux, but I also had a undiagnosed hiatal hernia that interfered. Thankfully I had lost most of my weight when my pouch dilation happened, this is VERY COMMON with long term lap banders, it is usually caused by eating too much on a restricted band and Pbing or getting too tight
If you have the AP band you can get your pouch surgically fixed without removing your band, but often times unfilling the band will resolve most pouch dilations, and pouch dilation can be managed without surgery, but going forward and living with a pouch dilation, you must be careful with vomiting and getting the band filled too tightly and keep your portions size small when the band is tightly restricted.
If you feel like you want to eat normally and don't want to follow rules, keep the band loose, but if you want to get tight you MUST follow band rules by keeping your meals small and if you can help it no vomiting...
Original Lap Band * 9/30/2005 * 4cc 10cm band*, lost 130 pounds. 7 Great years!
Revision surgery to AP small lap band *11/13/2012*, due to large hiatal hernia. I am hopeful about continuing my band journey uneventful and successful. I loved what my old band did for me and I am looking forward for my new band to Keep my weight down
Mine dilated at one year out and had to have a total unfill for six weeks, it had been filled to 8.75cc. At two years out, with the band never refilled past 6.25cc and never found restriction, it had to be unfilled once again for the same reason for 8 weeks. The band was either wide open or couldn't swallow spit.

I am having this same problem. I had my lap band July 2010. I have lost 34lbs. I am having acid reflux horribly bad. I just had a six week unfill and gained 20lbs. I have some fluid back in now, but no restriction and the acid reflux is coming back. I have been trying to talk to my Dr. that I feel like the band is not working for me. They just keep putting me off and gently suggesting I am not working the band.
I am at a loss of how to get through to the dr. that I would like to revise to a sleeve. Any suggestions? And before any haters get on...I have worked very hard to help my band work for me. I worked so hard for WLS and worked hard after I recieved it. I leave the drs. office feeling like maybe I can work harder...only to end up feeling like a failure in a week or two. Any thoughts ??

You need to go in and let him know you are once again having issues. You have to be firm you are following the rules. When the band is filled enough to reduce hunger you can't deal with the acid reflux and you are worried it is putting you at risk for cancer. If they can't get you restriction without reflux, you can't work the band. The band is harming you and you need it out before it causes permanent damage and you won't be able to get any other WLS.
Good Luck!
