Any input whatsoever...
Thank you ALL for the responses, input, info & references. It is all very much appreciated, and is the reason I decided to post. I've been stalking (lol) the forums for the last week, before posting.
I have post my original post on the sleeve AND lap band forums, along with my local forum.
To answer a few general inquiries. I am Canadian , and will be having this done in a hospital (covered) . Our hospital that does most of the surgeries , has 4 great surgeons. 2 are really world renown.
I welcome input & references, and will look up all links etc people provide. Thanks for welcoming me.

If you are Canadian I think they still offer the 4cc bands, I loved my old 4cc band but I developed a hernia with it, my old surgeon was new to banding and probably did not install it properly in the first place. Most lost weight very rapidly with 4cc bands, I went from a size 26 to a size 8/10 in about 2 years and I loved my band.
You have a lot of weight to lose, remember the lap band requires discipline and exercise and so does the Sleeve they are both tools.
If I were choosing between 4cc lap band and Sleeve, I would get the 4cc band any day because you will have rapid weight loss just like the Sleeve without all the side effects. But make sure you get an experienced surgeon that will offer great aftercare.
If you were choosing between the AP band and the Sleeve, and losing weight was your only concern and you did not care to get your stomach removed, I would say go with the Sleeve.
Good luck.
Original Lap Band * 9/30/2005 * 4cc 10cm band*, lost 130 pounds. 7 Great years!
Revision surgery to AP small lap band *11/13/2012*, due to large hiatal hernia. I am hopeful about continuing my band journey uneventful and successful. I loved what my old band did for me and I am looking forward for my new band to Keep my weight down
I'd NEVER get a band - the risks are just too high.
The only thing I will say is that those who say VSG and bypass are permanent weight loss solutions are wrong. Nearly all of these patients will gain weight back, most at least 50%, and some will gain more than they weighed preop.
Objective story:
After bypass I gained about 40% of my weight back despite 10 hours of high intensity exercise per week and a protein focused diet. Do I wish I hadn't had the surgery? HELL NO!! Lol. I've had a ton of awesome in my life because of it.
Anyway, there's no right answer. I just wanted to say that just because a surgeon doesn't go in and take your surgery back, like they do when lap band is removed, doesn't mean the surgery is permanent. I had fluro done a few weeks ago that shows my body undid the surgery itself.

Best of luck!!
Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight, where anyone with band issues are dog piled and discredited. Sure, balanced info. Let us see where YOU re when you are no longer a two year noob.
THIS is where the vets post, what you suggest is where the noobs post.
Heh....
There are tons of people on that board with more than five years experience and there are plenty of forums for people with complications.
When you are so prejudiced you lose credibility. It looks crazy. It's sad that you deter people who need support. You are doing harm and can't even see that.
At the very least leave me and my posts alone when I'm giving people access to information. I never blessed one surgery or another.
Yuck
