...I got my Lapband. Tomorrow at 5:30AM I check into university of Washington medical center to have it removed, the damage assessed and my hiatal hernia repair redone. I am sad, disappointed, grateful and relieved that I finally have some idea of what the problem is and that in a few months I may be able to eat more normally and eat healthy foods. I'm tired of regurgitating every meal, getting tests, going to doctors and being focused on this problem. I look forward to getting on with my life and enjoying my family and friends, travelling and enjoying retired life with my sweet husband. I've learned a lot from this experience.
Thanks everyone for your support, encouragement and the occasional kick in the pants when I needed it. I'll post when I'm off the drugs...

It went well. About 3 hours of surgery. They found that my band was at the very top of my stomach and there was a lot of scar tissue around the stomach and lower esophagus. Dr Khandewal did my surgery; he heads the bariatric department at UW. He left the HH repair as is, just removed as much scar tissue as was safe. I came home on Saturday afternoon, I'm feeling a lot better today.
My GI tract is awake for the first time in a year and a half! Today I ate a poached egg for breakfast, no problem. I've had no regurgitation and no stuck feeling. They did an endoscopy too, passed a bougie thru the esophagus without issue.
I coughed up a lot of blood clots from my trachea/lungs, but it's diminishing.
I'm very optimistic that I will continue to improve...starting a very low carb high protein eating plan when I get approval.
How are you doing??
