Almost 4 years out since lap band surgery. Went from 284-131 lbs in first 2 years and kept it off until recently gaining back 32 lbs. I don't think I should get another fill due to all the complications I've had over the years with my band being too tight and having a slight slip 2 times. I need something to help me jump start the weight loss again. Anyone taken diet pills to help??

I took diet pills briefly after starting to gain on RNY. Bad idea. I lost for sure, but the second I stopped taking them I gained twice as much as I lost. Everyone is different though! Just my experience. It seems to desensitize you to full and hungry when we need the opposite.

What you need Jen is a lifestyle change. Have you incorporated exercise into your weight loss? Once we lose the weight, the easy part is over, keeping it off is the hardest part. Look at your diet very closely and incorporate an exercise regiment into your lifestyle. Im not talking about a brisk walk a couple of times per week, but a real exercise program. Weight resistance, google it. You wont need a gym or equipment, you use your own body. Start replacing the fat with muscle, you may not see a lot of weight loss on the scale, but you will see it in your clothing. Good luck to ya!

In my personal opinion diet pills are never a good idea, they are simply a band aid approach to a severed limb. I also agree no fills because if you have already had 2 slips you are walking a slippery slope to begin with. Have you been checked for another slip perhaps that is why you are having trouble losing. The best way to get back on track is go back to basics. Look at the right side of this page and start with the solid food stage, journal and exercise. I think we can all agree that a great deal of the battle is mental too so if you think it would help you maybe some counceling would be of benefit or at least teach you new or different coping skills. Good luck and keep working it!
