Biggest loser lap band styl
I am using the band, I had an adjustment done last week, I am now feeling some restriction, my surgeons office told me it is not what you eat it is how much you eat, this has not been working for me.
Doesn't sound like your surgeons office should be given you nutritional advise. What you eat is 95% of it. The band is suppose to help with how much.
You have already been given the best Nut advise. No white carbs, Protein first, green/orange veggies, than berries/non sugary fruits last. Get at least 64oz water. Get some kind of work-out program going.
6 years I"m sure you already know what you are suppose to be doing. What has your office said about what is going on? There have been many coming thru the boards saying the band never worked after having a baby. We have also had some say it worked great. Could be your band is just at the point it isn't going to work. You haven't given enough helpful info to give you any other helpful info.

It For me, how much I eat with the band is DIRECTLY related to WHAT I eat.
If I start each meal with lean, solid protein, I quickly become satisfied and cannot eat much else.
if I start my meal with chips and salsa, I can eat probably 8 ounces of chips if I am not stopped.
satiety happens when I eat a small amount of protein, so when I am 'on my game' that means
B -- 6 ounces of Greek yogurt
S -- fruit or a piece of low-fat string cheese
L -- 3oz of tuna with mayo, 16 low-fat wheat thins, some sliced cucumber
S -- fruit or string cheese and 3 pr 4 crackers
D -- lean protein (tonight it was 3 large shrimp), about 1/2 cup of veg, 2 or 3 bites of grain or potato or rice
S -- 1/2 Luna bar or a few calcium chewiness ... I like something sweet before I brush, floss and gargle

It also helps me to prepare my food ...weigh or measure my portion and take it put of the kitchen to eat it.
i eat and stop when the food is gone .....and wait at least 20 minutes before I decide if I am satisfied or not.
The 2 biggest adjustments for me were
1. No drinking with meals or for 45-60 minutes afterwards
2. Understanding the difference between feeling full and being satisfied
If I eat until I am full, I have overeater and am often uncomfortable.
if I eat a small amount and wait, I realize I am no longer hungry ... Not full, just not hungry
You've gotten some great advice so far so use that and keep in mind that quite often the band never works the same after pregnancy. No one seems to now why but very often you can't get that green zone again, you may have to settle for close but on the loose side (never get too tight) and use a little more will power. Also while I hope you can get your band functional again do be aware that many of us followed all the rules and our bands never did work. I did all I was supposed to except for exercise because of a lung disease, short walks were all I could handle. I didn't get a good restriction level, had to use will power just like before. I was always either too tight or too loose. Then a few years out I started getting tighter so got a small unfill, then tighter again and another partial unfill. It finally got too expensive to play the fill, unfill game so had it emptied. I lost more after emptying than the whole time with the band. Also the band cause serious esophogeal issues for many people. Like everything else tho not for all people I also know people who are going on 8-10 yrs with the band so it is just really a crap shoot how things turn out. So get as good a restriction as you can, eat high protein low, healthy carb and journal that should get you going on the right path!
