Nope. When someone criticizes and/or counters everything I say, that's negative. I've never challenged what anyone has said here. I would appreciate reciprocity.

Just because it is fact does not mean it is negative.  That is how you see it probably because you only want to see the positives.

The reality is that you could put your bed and night stand in the office of your surgeon and camp out there and it still won't stop the erosions, slips, dilated esophagus, the re-ops (such as Kate's), or the stomach damage.  I just don't want people thinking that if they just follow the band rules or camp out in their surgeon's office that their future band is going to work any better.  The UK stats really aren't all that hot.

Compliance with follow up care absolutely impacts success (as do several other factors).

Yes, BUT, you can be absolutely compliant as I was and suffer terribly.  My band is coming out Friday, pending ins approval because it destroyed my esophageal motility.

Yep. I said that I hear that. Compliance is still important.

And btw, nobody criticized anything you wrote.

Kate, Congrats on your success and living the good life!  Sigh, its sad though to be off the boards here for months just to find that things haven't changed much.  God forbid any of us banders are successful because you don't have to wait long til the same old voices chime in how "lucky" we are or how we aren't telling the truth.  (You can change the Nicknames we recognise who ya are!)   I know the band doesn't work for some people but why do people feel it's so necessary to rain on someone's success every.single.time?  Wait, don't answer that. Just a rhetorical question, really.

Thank God! I thought it was me! Lol!!

I've been told I'm naive and ignorant in so many words! Of course there are cons to band and negatives...and of course there are successes!! And no one will listen when I say my RNY didn't come without a price...but I WOULDN'T CHANGE IT!

Life is a beautiful journey and a challenging one. Kudos to every positive day anyone has- its a gift, WLS and all.

In short- carry on with your bad selves!
