Should i or shouldn't i - any advice???
I had a fill after 6 months and had .5 put in. Then after two weeks of not being able to drink much liquid, feeling dizzy and blood pressure dropping (due to taking a daily blood pressure pill that is also a diuretic), i gave up and went back and they took the .5 out and rescheduled me to come back on june 3rd. i am reading on this forum from folks that have had no more additional fluid put in and are still losing weight. yes, my portions are larger but i am not eating between meals except for an afternoon snack of healthy food. i can drink all the liquids i need and get two quarts of water in a day. i am feeling normal hunger about 3 hours after i eat a meal and between meals at 3 pm. my weight is slowly going down. but i am tempted to have them put .2 in just as a buffer. any thoughts out there? i wonder if that .2 may be my sweet spot.....
PS - NO MORE GETTING STUCK!
Sounds like you are doing really well. I think even .2 might put you over the edge of being too tight. I have had a .1 fill do that to me. That being said, the best thing is probably to go to your dr. and talk about it. Let him know what your eating and what your hunger is like- keeping a journal to bring in would be a good idea. Decide together what the next step is for you. Good luck and keep up the good work.

It sounds like you are at your sweet spot NOW, the band is suppose to only dim hunger for about 3-5 hours, not stop you from eating, it is a tool, not a device for punishment and torture. But as you can see if you get it any tighter, the band can be a torture device.
You were getting stuck and having choking because your band was too tight, a too tight band WILL cause horrible complications....remember your band future is in YOUR hands you can go down that slippery slope and add more saline -- your surgeon will keep filling your band as long as you request more saline.... but remember any complications will be on YOU...your surgeon gets paid the same for removing or installing your band.
Long term bandsters don't need big fills, never add more than .1cc per time to see how you feel and to prevent dilating your pouch/esophagus.
Good luck
