Truce?

That is pretty cool.  She was such a know it all that actually didn't.  It's good to see her turn around and be straight with you about it.  I hope she did get a revision and is doing well.  Her weight loss was very important to her, I hope she was able to maintain it with a revision.   Even though she did say some pretty dumb stuff like rny causes cancer.  Good to see people turn things around.

Last I heard she did not get a revision.  That was why she was so angry with her surgeon.  The 'prayer group' that was going around at the time was that she either slipped or eroded, I forget.  She had to have it out and wanted a revision but couldn't afford it and wanted to pay in payments.  Her surgeon doesn't do sleeves, he only does bands and he declined to take payments for band removal either.  That is when she started posting that he was a bad doctor and nobody should go to him.

Wonder what happened to her nemesis from Seattle.  Have you heard anything about him?  Edit to say, maybe it was Aberdeen not Seattle.

Yeah Wendell!  I forgot his name.  Is he still around?

I'm not sure what happened to him.  One day he just snapped and hated everyone.  He went to another band forum posing as some lady and started slam dunking everyone.  There were people who did give him a hard time and no matter what he wrote they told him he was wrong.  I wasn't one of those people, several of us were not.  We chatted on the phone, emails, etc.  Then that infamous day he just snapped and hated the world and everyone was his target.  No clue what happened.

I still have a phone number for him assuming it is any good. No idea and no desire to find out.

I REMEMBER WENDELL.....I'm on "old" bander. Jan 2007.  I really liked Wendell and had to chuckle over "orpan annie"...i know exactly who you are talking about..used to tell my husband the stuff that went on.  Seems like some of us old timers are gravitating back to the boards. Wendell left years ago...too much drama for him, don't blame him.  He was always getting flamed.

Wendell-  I know what you mean, the 'clique' of the day did give him a hard time and I don't really know why other than he was losing like crazy but he also started out at like... 500-600#.  The ladies that had like 100# to lose were not doing well at all and they were the ones giving him a hard time.

They kept telling him his info was wrong and honestly, it wasn't.  He was correct in his advice.  That was back in the day when this board was verrrry busy.  Newbies would ask the same questions over and over and over again ... in the same day!  So he posted his top 20--60 whatever it was pieces of advice daily just to cover it all.  HA!  Remember that?  They didn't like that.

Several of us stood up for him and reminded everyone that he wasn't breaking any rules.  One day he just changed for lack of a better word and stormed off.  He went to another board, posed as a woman, and was slam dunking everyone including those who stood up for him.

I do recall one issue that I really did not blame him for being angry.  Little Orphan Annie claimed she was working for his doctor and told everyone he really wasn't losing weight.  Truth was, at that time he was.  He stopped at about 350# but at that point he WAS losing weight well.  Annie just wasn't telling the truth and that was all she knew how to do to discredit him.

Remember how Annie used to come up with fake IDs and post slamming everyone and she would forget which ID she was using and then post as herself under her fake ID?  HAHA  Then she would claim someone hacked her computer.  Band educator.  BWAHAHAHA!!!!  Self appointed band educator.

Boy you guys are bringing back memories.

I loved Wendell numbered post with the top questions and answers.  It was crazy seeing the same question posted several times a day.  If you pointed out the search function or reading some post before posting the newbie would say you were being mean and stomped off.

I had totally forgotten about Annie swearing her computer was hacked.  I was a computer illiterate newbie than and didn't think anything of it.  Now days I understand what she had done

Remember when Annie used to make bizarre claims and when asked for proof she would find a study, change the results to match her claims, and then post it??  HA!  Like she wasn't going to get caught?  RNY causes cancer, papaya enzyme would eat a hole through your stomach, only those who don't follow the infamous band rules have problems,  the list was endless.  And if you wan'ted to do well you could buy her CDs.  You were supposed to listen to them at night while you slept.  Talk about nightmares!!!!!!!!!!!!

Remember the newbie banded person that was on welfare and AFTER surgery she discovered her band needed maintenance?  She had no idea it needed fills and unfills.  She thought the state wouldn't pay for her fills and 2 weeks post op she went storming into her docs office demanding a revision to RNY because it was not her responsibility to pay for any aspect of her medical care.  He declined and she threatened to sue him.  Then we reminded her with RNY she would have to pay for all her supplements and if we thought she was angry before, now she was fuming.  She called all of us a bunch of haters and stormed off claiming she would make the state pay for everything, that was their job!  I've always wondered how she is doing now. ;)
