Self pay in Mexico is around $4K.  Much cheaper and more hospital time than the US. But you have to do your research!

Thank you .  My new insurance will kick in June 1st so I will be able to locate a doctor then if its in the plan.

When i say I am 'tired of the process" i am referring to going to get the fills .  I wanted RNY in the beginning but I let my family talk me out of it.

Just breath, you will be fine.  June 1st is so close.  If you don't feel an emergency or anything urgent, wait it out.  No sense taking out huge medical loans and going off to mexico when you have less than 2 weeks to find out you may be able to have whatever you need medically taken care of right here in the good ole USA.

The thing is a doc will probably not mess with your band until you've had some diagnostic testing.  Practice some of the suggestions that Nana has offered.  Get on a PPI (wish I could send you the Nexium I have but I don't think that is allowed).  Anyways don't eat for a couple of hours before laying down, eat a soft food diet or liquids, Stay away from anything acidy like chocolate & tomatoes,   move your body, stay hydrated  . . .   Don't stress out because then things really tighten up.

Come back here for support.

No worries, you still have lots of cards to play.

All best,

Layla

Let me know if I could be of any help.

I had my band unfilled 2 yrs ago and am doing fine (for now), haven't gained and in fact have lost some. I only lost 20 lbs with the band anyway so it wasn't really a help. I was however having issues with it tightening with no fills and I couldn't afford the fills anymore either. Hopefully one day I can get a VSG but will have to wait.
