I am 2 days post op, and it is so much worse than I anticipated! Lots of questions, please...

So sad that your team didn't give you any helpful hints and tell you what to expect.  Walking and sipping are your two magic words.

Good luck

Thanks for the support and helpful hints everyone! It's amazing the difference 16 hrs can make. Still don't feel great but definitely much better than last night.

Call and tell the Doc you need liquid pain meds.  Ours orders it before we go home.

Burping is good!  Walking and belching is the best way to get the gas out.  I also used Gas-x.  I was told to walk at least ten minutes every hour.  I burped so much walking at night that my parrots now burp when going thru all their noises.

I can't believe you didn't get the spirometer.  The tummy binder was a life saver too.  I now have two and wish I could get you one.  By the time you got it you wouldn't need it.  He is nuts if he doesn't think the help.

As far as getting in and out of bed, roll in and out.  We are told STRONGLY do NOT sit in a recliner.  The support in them can cause blood clots.  I know many here advise using them so I can only tell you how strongly we had it hammered into our heads not to do this.

Good luck!  Every day gets better.

Walk, walk, walk!  Sip, sip, sip!  Also Protein is so improtant to healing sip all day long.
