Hi, Welcome back! Yes, some of us are having negative experiences with our bands, but it is still relevant as a reflection of some of the problems popping up that the medical community wasn't aware of a few years ago. Achalasia and other motility issues seem to be on the rise and it is finally being acknowledged. It means that more pre op testing is needed to determine which procedure is best and since so many hiatal hernias are repaired before, during and after surgery, which procedure is best suited to the patient and the desired WLS.
I'm down 95 lb, 70 due to the band and 25 due to achalasia (can't eat much) and consider myself a success.
