The band the cause of other problems?

 I had a realize band placed 3 years ago with a total weight loss of only 40 pounds and now a gain of 30. Last year I began to have muscular and joint pain. I was tested for Lupus, Lyme, arthritis, etc... Left last Dr. appt. feeling deflated because they said probably Fibromyalgia and sent me on my merry way. (I now have appointment with new Dr. !!!!) I am wondering if you or anyone has experienced these symptoms and if it can be related to the band. Today I went to my WLS Dr. and we are talking removal.I don't think I want to try any other WLS. I kind of feel this band is the root of all evils. Can anyone shed any light? Thank you in advance!

I do wonder if some 'low-level' auto-immune thing is going on since all of those tests are for auto-immune issues, and your body is fighting with having the object inside it.

 

I hope you get an answer from the new doctor, and some relief.

Fibro can be triggered by stress or trauma to the body and having an object in there could very well trigger it. I've read several people who developed fibro post band surgery. I had fibro before getting the band but it has gotten much worse and I have alot of issues with inflamation, especially in my lungs that takes forever to clear up. I've been on prednisone for over a month now trying to get my lungs settled down. I don't know for sure if it is related to the band, but it certainly can be irritating to surrounding areas.

Fibro and MS symptoms are a side effect of aspartame consumption. Are you taking in a lot of sugar-free products that use it? Once people cut down on aspartame intake, their symptoms subside.
