REALLY DISAPPOINTED

I've seen this exact same post (replete with unnecessary apostrophe in "negative nellies") a thousand times over.

We ALL did "something to save our lives."  No need to be sanctimonious. I know I didn't go into surgery and have the Lap Band implanted just because I was bored and looking for something to do. You'll find that you might just need the "negative" information when you need to save your own life at some point.

Perhaps......

Likely.

I agree with the poster who advises to use the block button. Of course, if you alienate everyone, there will be no one to help you if you need it. Just something to consider for the future.  If you feel like you're banging your head against the wall, though, definitely block. Or grow your hair really big so there isn't as much impact.  A wig might help cushion the blow. Or a helmet would work, too.

BTW, read through the posts.  Don't just read the titles.  Posts like singingtothewheat's are potentially life saving.

You don't think we were trying to save our lives as well?  Do you honestly think I spent many many thousands of dollars, went through two surgeries, ruined my esophagus with a band all so I could come here and brag about it?

I am on the right forum.

No I don't think you did that to just come and brag......BUT since I am new why not try to encourage people who have made the decision to have LB? Your story is tragic, no doubt,  yet can you honestly tell the SAME thing will happen to me or anyone else who has LB???? Do we have the same LB? Is everyone who had ur LB having those problems? Do we have the same medical factors? Can you answer yes 100% accurately to that question?

Frankly no I don't believe you are on the right forum. Again tragic but I am not you and you are not me.

YOU didn't come asking for encouragement!  You came here bashing people that have lived with a band for years.  You came here making judgments and telling US to go away.  How can we off you encouragement when YOU didn't ask for any.

I wish there where people offering honest information back in 2008 when I came aking for help.

I think when you come out of the gates on day one and bash those of us who have been here for years, seen many of our friends go through hell, and post our honest experience, you're going to get some pushback.  Nothing you say has relevance to us except you have a brand new band, and so did we.  Walk a mile, sister, walk a mile.

I've been here for over 6 yrs and was one of the biggest band boosters around until at 3 yrs out my band kept tightening (with no fills!) and finally had it emptied to try to avoid any further serious problems since my insurance no longer covers bariatrics. I still help newbies with problems regardless of my now hatred of the band. I will continue to warn people of the very real dangers of the band until the day I die because we were lied to by the manufacturers back when I got mine. In fact the government is currently investigating those very lies! I've known people who nearly died from the band and others who are permanently damaged and their quality of life forever ruined so I'm not going anywhere. I suggest if you don't want to hear us then don't open our threads or block us, but I can guarantee we are here to stay so adjust or block us. We aren't going anywhere!
