Now it's Dead
Since the powers that be have seen fit to recruit a "professional" from the non-patient side of wls, there is more contentious behavior than ever. Nice job. This forum was ok, even though quieter than before, but now it's useless. Thanks OH for taking the patients' experiences that are less than ideal and attempting to discredit and invalidate them. It's ok though, we have other places we can go.
Yep once again OH is doing all it can to ruin it's own business. Once again we are the idiots that were too stupid to know how to use our tools, it's all our fault we can't swallow or breathe or live with constant debilitating pain. We must have stuffed our faces and ruined our bands. The fact that I personally did a 30 day liquid diet wit only one small cheat of a 1/2 oz slice of cheese midway, kept my band on the loose side and had minimal sliming issues until my band tightened on it own with no fills. Oh and passed my psych exam with flying colors no eating disorders or psych hangups. Followed the eating progression to the letter yet it's still my fault my band doesn't work. Again we get blame for somehow not being good enough or right enough. I agree it's very close to time to leave this joke of a forum. OH has rung it's own death toll. I would love a good surgeon to advise us but this is not the person, we have no respect for him. My days here after 6 years are numbered and dwindling.
Dr. Simpson, nor any surgeon, is on staff with ObesityHelp.
ObesityHelp invites any professional to post and offer support on our message boards.
ObesityHelp is responding to members' requests for fair and balanced opinions, and discussion regarding the Lap-Band procedure. Many members have expressed their frustration that they cannot engage in discussion on the message board about the band without being attacked for sharing their experience, and requests for information and support.
Our surgical message boards are for all members that have any types of experience - positive or negative and we want everyone to feel welcome and safe in their posting.
We have a "Block" feature that is available to all members. If there is a member that you don't want to see postings of theirs, please use our Block button so you can have the experience on OH that is best for you.
I have blocked Dr Simpson. The fact that people complain that they cannot have a fair and open discussion, doesn't mean it's true. There is room for everyone here. I don't appreciate being told that I should take my gripes somewhere else. Perhaps you need to provide a space for that: motility disorders after wls. Unless there is outright name calling and excessive profanity, moderation isn't really necessary. This site promotes AGB surgery. I used this site extensively for research, communication with vets and ultimately in guiding my decision. Now I have a very real prospect of losing my esophagus to end stage achalasia. I had absolutely no signs of this pre-op. Both sides need to be heard.
