The New Guy April 2013
Hello I am a 43 year old man 361 lbs Scheduled for surgery on Friday the 19th. I just started the 5 day liquid diet and it really sucks. I am using Body Fortress Whey protein shake mix. I'm drinking the new Cool Aid squirt < no sugar no carbs> I bought the broth and the bullion mix. Couldn't find the protein water yet but will. I was wondering if it would be good to start vitamins now or wait till after the surgery.
I am worried that I wont be able to do this, so any help or tips would be great.
thanks!

/congrats on your surgery date! Sugar free jello was my saving grace on my liquid diet! I always took vitamins so take them if you need to!
Walk around as much as possible before the surgery and after is will help you out alot!
Good luck to you!

Band removed and feeling alive with energy!
Tazz, I see you just joined today. I hope you'll accept this advice as kindly meant.
At a BMI of 52, you DO NOT NEED A BAND. The Band is primarily intended for people with a BMI of 45 or less, and...it has a lot of problems. You, my friend, need to seriously research the DS (duodenal switch). It's the form of WLS that has the very best long-term, maintained weight-loss stats for patients of ANY size, but especially so for those of us with a BMI of 50 or greater. You can learn more about it here: http://www.dsfacts.com
