Because the LapBand and the Realize band are heavily marketed products often presented at sales pitch meetings called "seminars," many people approach weight loss surgery hearing only the advertising agency hype that the manufacturers pay for and the "success stories" that the surgeons selling this product want to present to potential patients. This board is for the other side of that story. It is NOT for the "but my band was great" stories. It is also NOT a place to tell anyone else what THEY should do. It is just a place where those of us who have lived through the adjustable gastric band experience and wish we had not been subjected to it can share that information with those who are just now looking into the procedure, in an arena where our personal experiences will not be challenged and where we will not be blamed for the failure of the product. This board will be heavily moderated to keep it from being a debate board.

My point is that it is sad to see so many join the group and share their stories of complications, damage and the disappointment they have. That's all.

Sorry I didn't know what board you were showing, there is no name. I once belonged to the failed lap band group (that's the one, right?) I have stopped contributing to OH because I got sensored...Back to lurking...

Yes, but at least there is a place to go for info and support when banders have issues. I just wish everyone looking into WLS took a look see.

I was searching for this info for ALL the WLS when I was trying to make the choice.

BAND REMOVED 9-4-12-fought insurance to get sleeve and won! Sleeved 1/22/13! Five years out and trying to get that last 15 pounds back off.
