My Lap band is not working Please help!

I'm a little late on the draw, but I am also having these same issues.  Frankly, I haven't seen my surgeon in years.  He would literally yell at you if you gained any weight back and I didn't feel like putting up with that.  I have my lap-band surgery 8 years ago this month and I have gained back over 50 pounds.  This is not where I thought this was going.  I got a new job and I know the insurance will pay for another lap-band or full-blown gastric bypass.  I'm interested in getting the sleeve, but I'm not sure if they will pay.  

My GP said that I should have the lap-band removed and get the sleeve, but I'm on the fence.  I'm so disappointed that I've gained so much weight back, but I'm also angry that I felt like I was sold a bill of goods concerning the wonders of the lap-band.  We'll see what happens.

You are describing my situation to the T. I had the same experience and my MD has no follow up. I was provided no support by his office. I delt more with the ER then my MD at times. My port was flipped by medical students after sticking my device 30+ times. Then I get a complete block if my doctor puts even fills me .5ml more. But my current fill rarely provides any restrictions. My doctor was talking about converting to the Gastric Sleeve the day after recieving my LAP BAND and I feel he wantedtex the LAP BAND to fail so he gets another surgery out of me.
