Taking Kate's advice and giving up

There is clearly no room here for anything remotely fun anymore. Every post now HAS TO be dragged down by negativity by someone. While I empathize with the people who have band problems, you are letting it rule everything in your life. I have known people with terminal cancer who had more upbeat personalities (and I'm dead serious about that. My mother was one of them.)

I've always said that everyone needs to feel open to post here - band successes and those whose bands failed them. I understand the need to warn people about the hazards of the band, and to let them know your experience, but to let it color EVERYTHING on this forum serves no purpose.

If anyone wants help with their band experience, message me. Some of you are members of my private group and can find me there. And I may post when someone here really, clearly, honestly needs help. But other than that, you probably won't see me all that much. I just don't see the point of being a member of what has become another failed band board.

"I'm LEAVING. See you tomorrow." That's how these types of posts come off.

Bette, I just pass right by those types of posts and read on.  I don't even give them a second glance.  I really hope you change your mind - please?  Like you, I'm a successful bandster and living life to the fullest!  Like you, I'm reaching out to all and helping anyone who asks.   I really need the support from many such as yourself, Jean, Kate, etc.  I've learned SO much!  If I'm not already part of your private group, would you please add me??

Hey, look, Bette, it worked. You have one person pleading with you to stay.

I bet it's bugging you now that you posted this thread. Now if you answer, you've proven that you don't really mean what you say about "giving up."

I, too, have lost my mother to terminal cancer.....but she would want me to get the band out as well with the problems I had. I did not have as many problems as some....but when you cannot eat anything with nothing in your band (almost 6 years with no fill)....I come here because I too want to help people with the same problems as I had. I don't want them to feel alone. I m like Nic....I hated the band and have a bitter taste in my mouth for it. This is where I used to come to for help.....and I got it. I made the changes I needed to get my life back. I want others to know that they can too if it is not too late. I think it is the way you come off Bette. Posting about all the other WLS and the downfalls. What about the positives. And when someone posts against YOUR opinions well, you seem to go off the edge with it with vulgar profanities.

I was on this site way back in 2006. There were not so many negative feedbacks the way they are now because it wasn't as prevalent. Wouldn't you warn your peeps about what is going on and what is happening to you? I felt so alone a year ago....some of the docs couldn't understand why I was having the problems I had. But I found out that I AM NOT ALONE. The band works for some but not most. I want to let the others know that there are WLS's out there that do work for most. If newbies come along and they consider the band I will not stop warning or plead with them to do their research about it.
