Just random thoughts....
Bette recently posted a topic sharing what this forum was like a long time ago and what I noticed was we used to talk about everything Weight Loss related. We shared fun topics and funny topics. I remember one of my favorites was "how much have you lost" in terms of things -- "tires, baby elephants etc..." Bette, do you have that some place? I loved posting that I had lost the weight of 1 baby elephant! (I think anyway, my memory isn't what it used to be) (perhaps I lost my mind too!)
Anyway, I think we focus a lot on the troubles of the LapBand and not so much on the good life that some of us have obtained due to our massive weight loss. Yes, I am not discounting those who haven't found such a good life post banding, but many have and I think we detract from their joy.
I'm sorry, I don't want to offend anyone who's had problems. And I completely agree that the bad needs to be shared, but I also believe that the good needs to be shared - the good and the joys and the "encouraging words" -- We are all in this together. Not one of us had a Band placed without the hope of being healthier.
So maybe we can share some of our NSV's ---

Revised to the Sleeve after losing 271 lbs with the LapBand.
I know a lot of people with bands of different kinds. I'm beginning to have the view that it's not a very good long-term solution. But it may be that people who have been successful with their bands for more than three years just aren't posting. It's true there's an awful lot of negativity here.
I'll sure be around. But could somebody please recommend a forum for lapband which is active and has a more neutral tone?
