Not that I wished this on anyone, but it does make me feel better to know I am not the only one! ha!  I am glad you were able to climb back on the wagon and lose.  I lost about half of my regain, and now I am on the path to losing the rest.  FINALLY.  Just needed to wait for head to catch up.  ha ha

I gained back almost 20 lbs before I was able to apply the breaks and remove the feed bag. I was so upset with myself and could not understand why, after having suffered so much...for so long...WHY was I allowing this to happen. After beating myself up, I started doing what I did back in the beginning and lost all my regain.

What works for others doesn't work for me, so I went back to what worked for me kiss

I'd like to lose 10 more lbs for my daughters wedding...I may have to curb my love of candy.angel

Why must candy be a slider?  LOL

Yes, we are all individuals and the same approach to losing weight doesn't work for everyone.  Sometimes the VSG board gets a bit annoying, as the "popular" crowd really pushes only having 600 calories and no more than 40 grams of carbs per day.  They seem to think that their way is the only way.  *sigh*

I have to aqree with you on that one. I have begun to challenge the super low cal/ super low carb thing. We'll see how it goes. I have always experienced a jump start on weight loss when I go low carb, but have always allowed the good carbs, like beans. I cannot continue very low carb for more than about 10 days before I just have to add protein that also has carbs. I'm a wuss. There really is no "right' way to lose weight except what works for you. I understand where the thinking comes from and many nuts will give out the low/cal/low/carb thing but mine did not. Whether band, sleeve, whatever, there is no "one size fits all".

It always rubs me the wrong way, when a group of people insists that their dieting techniques are the only approved and therefore successful techniques. I'm sorry but we all didn't eat the same crap or the same quantities of crap that led us to becoming obese in the first place.

We all have different lives, different triggers. Some of are very active, and some of us are disabled and therefore are unable to move like others in our unique population. I have always stressed, that what works for me will not work for every BODY.

If a person is only going to consume 600, 800, 1200 calories a day, then eventually their body is going to " Catch On " to the fact that it is having food withheld, and their body is going to adjust and hoard that limited amount of calories and use it sparingly for what it needs to achieve.

I am of the belief that you have to tweak ( not tweak ) your intake of calories and output of activity on a daily basis. What works now, may not work next week. It's all in the input and output.

My methods would horrify some of these diet queens, but I don't give a crap what they think, I just do what works for ME.kiss

Nothing gets me more pissed than having someone tell me I am eating way too many calories.  My surgeon insists on 1200 calories plus more.  He says, that other surgeons set up their patients for regain and failure years later.  Your body cannot sustain itself forever on 400 cals a day!  I read recently where a woman was going to find a different surgeon because her surgeon insisted she eat 1000 cals a day and she refused to get the Sleeve to live on 1000 cals the rest of her life.  She wanted a doctor who believes that 400 to 600 cals is the way to go!  I thought, she must be a real idiot!  As all the others who think it's healthy to live on 400 cals a day.

Sorry!  I just lose it when someone tells me that my surgeon doesn't know what he's doing!  I think he probably knows more than those clowns!

Yeah the "popular" crowd or the Dr C Cult as I call them, drive me nuts some days and I am a low carber.

Glad to see I'm not alonekiss

You said it Pumpkin, I kept being told to drop a couple hundred calories when I stalled on the boards, but after being raged on my the kids I UPPED it 400 calories and started slowly but, surely losing.  So, much for living on 5-600 calories.  Why would I want to if I don't lose and gain eating 400 more.  What works for a 5 foot tall  women shouldn't be the answer for a six foot tall man.

BAND REMOVED 9-4-12-fought insurance to get sleeve and won! Sleeved 1/22/13! Five years out and trying to get that last 15 pounds back off.

ROFL they annoy the bat **** outta me too.  That's why I stay on the boards.  Although in the beginning I was a 1000 calories, 50 carbs girl (my body HATES below 40).  At 5 years out when my body was starving at 1000 I went to 1200 and am slowly but surely losing my regain!!

I always spout FIND YOUR OWN WAY!!

I  posted something similar Melly.  The Sleeve for me has been harder because I can tolerate anything.  I do know other Sleevers who cannot tolerate everything, but I can.  This makes it hard to say, "no to foods I know are not good for me."  It takes self control and if the self control isn't there, I don't think the Sleeve is a good option.
