4 years out...New night time heartburn

Wow...I can't believe it has been 4 years since I had my band placed.  I have not had any problems and have maintained my weight loss.  As of the last couple weeks...I have been experiencing night time (when I lay down) heartburn.  I used to have a hyatial hernia so I know what heartburn feels like.  The hernia was repaired when my doc placed my band....ANY SUGGESTIONS or comments????

Probably a good idea to check it out with your band doctor.  Might need a little unfill :). Congrats on the 4 years and maintaining!

Exactly the same happened to me at about 4 years post-op. very mild, night time heartburn. Had a tiny unfill and been fine ever since - three years ago now.

I am so afraid of an 'unfill'....I am so afraid of 'gaining' too much back?   Did you go back for a fill once you started feeling better??  Thank you for taking the time to share you experience....

No, I had no need to. The reason for the tightness is unknown but was probably due to a small build up of scar tissue. So it was not like a temporary change which would return to "normal" like tightness caused by illness or stress. So the unfill just took me back to the level of restriction which suits me and it stayed like that. It was a tiny amount. I have the old 4cc band and I had just 0.1 cc taken out.
