I used Premier premixed chocolate, Syntrax nectar unflavored and mixed it with flavored or Fortress (Walmart) whey protein powder and mixed the chocolate and strawberry with a little ice and water. You will have to try things to see what you like. Experiment!

From someone who hates the taste of shakes and prefers to avoid chemicals, it is possible to make your own. A basic soup, home made or bought, any flavour you like. Add a can of chick peas or similar for protein, blend to the right consistency. You will need slightly more to get your protein in but it tastes a lot nicer and I found it much more filling.

Highest 290, Banded - 248   Lowest 139 (too thin!). Comfort zone 155-165.

Happily banded since May 2006.  Regain of 28lbs 2013-14.  ALL GONE!

But some has returned! Up to 175, argh! Off we go again,

I like the Walker Diet Meal Replacement drinks (http://www.vitacost.com/productResults.aspx?N=32+1005310+2008185&Ne=1&Ns=P_SoldQuantity|1) They are 24g protein and 7g carb. There are a half-dozen flavors. The mouth-feel is good -- not too chalky. They don't have a strong smell and they're not too sweet either. One of the problems I have with a lot of protein drinks out there is over-use of sweeteners. For some reason the assumption is that people who are trying to lose weight love sweets, and I'm not one of those.

I also like the Aria women's protein drink that Trader Joe's puts out.

Good luck

Great suggestions. Previously when I was low carbing I made my own with whey protein powder and found a few concoctions I liked. Will those still work for me post- op? Like plain Greek yogurt, calorie countdown milk, frozen berries and strawberry protein powder. Another former favorite was chocolate calorie countdown milk, chocolate protein powder, unsweetened cocoa and a 1/4 tsp peppermint extract. I love peppermint patties.

I too like the Premiere Protein, 30g protein, and get them from Sam's club here.  I also buy the Syntax Nectar on line, low/no carbs and like the fuzzy navel with CL Sunrise orange.  I also love the Cappuccino.  I mix it with four oz almond milk than add 8-12 oz decaf.  I have found it a life saver after this surgery.  I sure wish I had it after the band surgery.
