I have the GSE tomorrow to determine the extent/severity of gastroparesis...hoping for a negative result, tho it doesn't mean I don't have it, just not as far along in the progression of the disease.

Test results were in the normal range, slow, but with normal parameters. . My doctor wants to see me in two weeks, stay on drugs and low fiber diet.

Did they do a 90 minute test or the 4 hr test? I have gastroparesis a and it was diagnosed after my RNY. You can get normal results with the 90 min test and have gastroparesis. What med did they put you on? There are several great Facebook pages for those with gastroparesis.

I had the 4 hour test.  I'm on amitiza, but have a Rx for lizness that I haven't started yet because I have to be out and about and the side effects may preclude leaving the house.  I do belong to a couple of websites for motility disorders and a gastroparesis FB page.

I'm relieved that the test was normal, though mt doctor told me that doesn't mean you don't have it, it's just not severe.  I honestly think the band needs to come out.  I want to revise to VSG, husband isn't too keen on me removing 85% of my stomach.  I told him we women are used to losing body parts, lol.

Good for you!  You have to do what is best for you.  I can say the sleeve so far has taken care of the IBS I had prior to the band and made worst by it.

BAND REMOVED 9-4-12-fought insurance to get sleeve and won! Sleeved 1/22/13! Five years out and trying to get that last 15 pounds back off.

I had a gastrectomy in October totally removing my pouch. I dealt with a stricture right after surgery that was dilated 12+ times. I had a feeding tube placed at the end of November and it was placed into the remnant stomach. I can't take anything orally because I vomit up every thing. A new GI determined my entire digestive track was actually affected. I haven't had any issues taking feedings through the feeding tube until yesterday when I went to take meds and my remnant stomach was still full of formula 3 hrs later. It was not fun. I had to drain it into the sink. I definitely wish you the best! I agree the band needs to go.
