A big thanks for those that responded to my post last night in regards to "Any banders have Ulcers?" My results came back from my ultrasound and I DON'T have gall stones. However, they think that from the way I am explaining my symptoms that I do, in fact, have an ulcer. They are putting me on some ulcer medication (can't remember the name.) I know they said it was a liquid and I have to drink it four times a day. Apparently it will coat the lining of my stomach so that any ulcers will heal up. Wish me luck! I will pop in to let y'all know if it's working. Thanks everyone!

Well at least it's a step in the right direction. I am sure you must feel a little relieved! : )

Glad to hear it's not gallstones, but I'm sorry to hear it might be an ulcer. Hopefully the medication will help. I know the difference is like night and day for me... the before medication situation was extremely painful. But thankfully the medications are fairly fast acting. Feel better soon.

Sounds like Carafate.  I had to take it the first two weeks after getting my sleeve.

BAND REMOVED 9-4-12-fought insurance to get sleeve and won! Sleeved 1/22/13! Five years out and trying to get that last 15 pounds back off.

Dear Pineview,

I was reading my last post and your reply about the Carafate and thought I would update you. What we thought was ulcers turns out to be a slipped lap band. All those months drinking that crap only to find out my band was at fault. What interested me was that you said you have the sleeve. I will be revising to a a different surgery and was considering getting the sleeve. Would you be willing to share your experiences with your sleeve? Just want to know if you are happy with it and if it was the best decision for you. Let me know! Thanks!

I revised to a sleeve 4.5 months after having the band removed.  I love my sleeve!  I have lost all my regain and am down 40 pounds more than I was at my low with the band.  I am ~15 pounds from normal.  I'm just overweight now I have found the sleeve to be what I thought the band would be like.

PM me if you would like to know more.

Hi Jenny! Sorry to hear of your slip and misdiagnosis...I had my band removed in June due to achalasia caused by my band and excess scar tissue. I can't revise. It's good you know what the real problem, but too bad so many of us are needing removal/revision.
Glad to see you around☺
