Barium Swallow ?

I see my doc on friday. My band has been empty since Mid November  and I am so frustrated. My doc actually told me its like buying a car then after driving it off the lot you then realize that you bought the wrong surgery. He feels his hand are pretty tied with the wording in the denial letter.

i fear I am heading down this road.  it breaks my heart to read all that I am reading tonight.  I wish us all a lot of luck and good health. Very nervous!

I wish I paid more attention to my symptoms a lot earlier. Start documenting everything now and keep reading all you can about the complications that some people are experiencing. it may help you in the long run to seek help sooner than I did. I am off to see nutrition today and doc on friday and I am asking for a scope. I have no Idea what he is going to about the results of the swallow but when I got the call from the nurse telling me my band was perfectly positioned and everything looked fine. She was ready to hang up and I asked her about the reflux and she seemed surprised that I knew and said he doc would talk to me on friday about that. Thankfully the doc who did the test told me that!Best fo luck to you!

Went and saw the doc and we discussed every issue and symptom. We talked about a scope but decided to try a fill first. He added 2cc's and full fluids for 2 weeks. Then back to see him. I'm feeling fine, except the left shoulder pain, which I will discuss with him at my next visit.  Before the complete unfill in November I never had restriction at 2cc's so it will be interesting to see what happens at 3cc's and solid food. 

It concerns me that you're having the left shoulder pain. Did it get worse after the 2cc fill?  The reason is concerns me is that the more that nerve gets irritated, the more likely it is to be permanently damaged. And it causes all kinds of nasty side effects. I hope you can get an answer at your next visit and find a way to eliminate the shoulder pain. Good luck to you.
