Thank you.   I am just happy when I don't feel like crap from all the damage the band caused.

Congrats on your decision and I can see you have done your research. Hope all goes well with your surgery and you have a speedy recovery. You have  a  great doctor whom I am sure has informed you of all pro's and Cons. Your doctor trained the surgeons I worked with and the one who placed my band. Keep us posted on how you are doing.

Thank you!! Its pretty cool to know someone whose had her surgeon work with mine before. My friends all love him and I love him already...He literally answered every question I threw at him and I never felt pressured or rushed. (unlike other doctors I have seen). I will most defiantly keep you posted!!

I think you have spoken here very passionately, eloquently and respectfully.

The Band is the harder road to choose but I think it made me work harder, eat healthier and workout more.  I think it made me a healthier person. I started out weighing over 350 lbs and I now weigh 175 lbs.  sure I am still working on losing weight 4 years later...but I am completely off all my meds and I can run a 5K!!!  So I am satisfied.  I am just trying to lose the last 15 lbs out of pure vanity..because I will have a normal BMI.  Who knows I might decide to lose another 10 lbs.

As far as complications go...I have never had any issues.  In fact I can eat whatever I want when I want.  Which is almost a curse!!!  I am filled to 9.8ccs and had my last fill was back in 8-2011.  I go in once a year now just to make sure everything is OK in there.  That's it and so far so good.   ]

I just thought I would throw in a good story....

Good luck to you.

I hope you know what you are doing.  Good luck.

246 in Dec 2008 before banded 1/28/09 at 215 lbs, band crapped 9/09 at 170 lbs and struggled with it and regained to 203 revised to bypass on 8/1/11 and am very happy.
