Do you have foods that are completely off limits?
I go back and forth on this issue. On the one hand, I think "I am a food addict and as such need to obstain from high fat, high sugar foods". On the other, I think, I need learn to eat certain foods in very strict moderation, that is limited amounts and not very often. That way, I won't feel deprived. The obstainance seems to be working as of late. I have introduced healthy carbs and that seems to be going a long way to keeping me feel fuller longer and not feel deprived. What do you do?
Any bread except for Sandwich Thins. Those I can eat 1/2 of but keep it to rarely. Candy bars. I remember when they would be on sale and I would but 8 or 9 a day and eat them all. Fresh bakery sweet rolls. Even the smell of them entices me. I haven't been able to eat more than a few bites since I was first banded, but I am known to give them a try. Anything "yeasty" is a problem for me, whether in taste or smell, and I stay away except for the previously mentioned trigger.
I used to go to open AA meetings with my hubby and heard something that stuck, "One is never enough and 100 is never too many".
Nothing. I can and do eat all foods. Even when in the losing stages. i went for moderation not total deprivation.
