Thyroid Surgery and LapBand

Anyone have any experience of having your thyroid removed (thyroidectomy) after the LapBand?  I am 3 1/2 years out, have been maintaining 90 lb loss for 3 years, no fills/unfills in 2 1/2 years.  Now I have to have my thyroid removed.  Wondering if anyone has undergone this and could you let me know the challenges that the lapband caused?  I know it's going to be a journey to get straight after the surgery with the replacement hormones, etc., but I'm wondering if the lapband caused any unique problems I need to be aware of.  I plan on talking to my bariatric surgeon to get his perspective, but "real life" experiences are very helpful!

sorry,  I can't add any words of wisdom but I do know your in for a long medication adjustment period  ahead.

My daughter had thyroid removed due to cancer and has done nothing but gain weight since. I am hoping someday maybe she too will get the band.
