Now VS Then

Well, the VSG board has had 19 new posts in the last 3 hours, none about complications, what are we eating today, etc.  Just discussions about food, clothes, weight loss etc.  And no arguments.

I love the VSG board....it is so supportive and responsive. Personally, and I am not naming names, but I believe the destruction of this board it due to one very hostile person. I left this board back in 2009 due to all of the drama and I only came back when looking for some support when I started having complications with my band.

I also think fewer people are getting the band these days.....for example, I went to my Dr's support mtg last month and at one point we had to divide ourselves into groups based on our surgeries....there were about 150 people there in total. Only 2 people had or were getting the band. The rest of the group was 50/50 sleeve and RNY.

HW - 287 (12/2007); GW - 165; CW - 164....proudly wearing a size 8!On my journey from LapBand to VSG.....LapBand on 12/19/07, LapBand removal on 8/8/12 and sleeve on1/23/13! Consider joining me at Band2Sleeve!( http://www.obesityhelp.com/group/Band2Sleeve/)  Friend me on MyFitnessPal too! I'm gorditabonita74.

I gave up trying to post anything because of Naomi and all the crap she stirs up. I just can't stand seeing all the lies and hatred she spews towards others, even the ones who tried to help her when she had problems. Plus I spend way more time on FB groups where people can play nicer.

Which FB group are you in? I agree that many of her posts are intended to incite riots...plus she absolutely offers no support...it's all EGO.

I am on the WLS FB page and I am the only LapBander -- well, there is one other who just got the Band.  I feel sorry for her because there really are no others who can answer her questions specific to the band, except myself.

It is a pleasant page!

I do believe that Naomi is just a very difficult person.  I'm not sure if there is more to her story, but I imagine there is.

Me a difficult person? Nah....I am the most friendliest person there is...I am just not a negative person and I only like to deal with positive people, My Philosophyis you fall brush off and get back up ....I am not a nagger.....

I don't post here WISHING I could get a Sleeve or secretly not happy with my band, I take action, if I want a Sleeve, I will simple get one and leave those who still want a band alone. I come here hoping to see band success like I used to...and that's just not happening....

No one wants to hear doom and gloom daily here on this board, and, even if I get my band removed one day, I will just move on with life.

Original Lap Band * 9/30/2005 * 4cc 10cm band*,  lost 130 pounds. 7 Great years!

Do remember that when you had issues, the people who fell over themselves to offer you support were the people who you accuse of being "band bashers".

Highest 290, Banded - 248   Lowest 139 (too thin!). Comfort zone 155-165.

Happily banded since May 2006.  Regain of 28lbs 2013-14.  ALL GONE!

But some has returned! Up to 175, argh! Off we go again,

I got support from MANY that I don't consider Band Bashers, I did not ask for help from Band Bashers. You don't have to constantly post here in a negative way to offer support for those in need. In fact, I got help with my band replacement from someone that rarely post here.

Remember how the band board used to be a few years ago? Those who were in  trouble or needed help or advice, GOT IT.  So............. you don't have to be  a Band Basher to help those in NEED when they have complications, those who are positive and OFFER SOLID HONEST and helpful advice is the support I 've always wanted.

There used to be a wealth of information here on how to live with the band, avoid complications, weight loss tips, etc, that's why many long term vets had less complications that those who are newly banded, because many newly banded folks did not get the education at least I got about warning signs with the band.  And that's very SAD, because the band is MUCH MORE SAFER DUE TO SAFER BANDS AND MORE CLINICAL EXPERIENCE IN THE USA, IF USED PROPERLY,  than it was when I got mine nearly 8 years ago.

The support here overall is no longer helpful, useful or valid in my opinion.

Kate,

You are totally correct about that!  I remember thinking to myself, "wow! these very people, whom Nana has 'hatefully dissed' have come to her with assistance.  I think she's totally forgotten this!

Lost 271lbs with my LapBand in 22 months!  My Band malfunctioned and I gained almost 42lbs and then revised to the Sleeve 9/24/12!  I lost another 140 lbs with my Sleeve!  Loved the LapBand and Lovin' The Sleeve!

Hmm...I have not hatefully dissed NO ONE...just because i don't like a negative environment and the Sleeve pushed down my throat every time I post here, does not mean that I should sit by and ALLOW BAND BASHING.....

I have nothing against those *****vise to the Sleeve, in fact I have a few favorite ex banders that I will continually support -- If I am here, since we've supported each other over the years.

But I've decided to move on to more positive boards with ONLY LAP BANDERS for now since I need to concentrate on losing weightbroken heart.
