The very people in this thread are the reason this board is VERY QUIET, and the reason this board has become extinct,  in fact some have been passive or aggressive band bashers for a few years and have made it a full time job. You would think if they had a REAL life or real job outside of this board, they would not have so much time spewing negativity.

Most of the people in THIS THREAD are hostile against those who are newly banded or those who are getting a band and you wonder why people come here and run away very fast?

From now on you will be here alone, with all the negative people, no one wants to hear negatively all the time. How can someone concentrate on weight loss with all this negativity?

No one wants to hear doom and gloom every single time they post here, I know I don't, I had a hiatal hernia, got it fixed, got a new band and moved on, no more problems, my band did not leave me permanently damaged.

If newly banded people or those who are seeking band don't know the risks of complications or removal, then they shouldn't get the band in first place, if their surgeon don't education them on the risks or if they have not done their OWN homework on how to live with the band or the dangers of being too tight, too bad for them.

And if someone THINK only lap banders have complications, and other weight loss surgeries don't -- too bad for them too.

Also, no one wants OTHER surgeries shoved down their throat when they post on the LAP BAND BOARD. There are separate boards for a reason, if I was interested in the SLeeve, I would be on that board asking questions daily and giving support to those who have the SAME surgical interest I have.

People want to hear scale victories, see pictures of success, motivation and help those who are struggling, recipes, weight loss tips, how to use the band properly.

No one wants to hear band bashing or even passive band bashing. There ARE MANY other lap band support sites, and many have left for those, even myselfkiss

People are STILL getting the band, they are just not coming here.

It's not the same board that it used to be, it's not the same board where I had over 300 friends and the happy atmosphere, and Yes I am hostile to band bashers and those who are not really HERE to support the band and those who still have a good functioning band.

I feel good and my band is working, so I have no reason to no longer post, I am happy and content.

Original Lap Band * 9/30/2005 * 4cc 10cm band*,  lost 130 pounds. 7 Great years!

Revision surgery to AP small lap band *11/13/2012*, due to large hiatal hernia. I am hopeful about continuing my band journey uneventful and successful. I loved what my old band did for me and I am looking forward for my new band to Keep my weight downsmiley

I disagree.  The other surgery boards on this site are active.  People don't always agree, but they do seem to get along.  I think there is a controversy within the band community and the band itself is the sticking point.  You don't see people being called "sleeve bashers" or "DS bashers" when someone mentions they're not happy with their surgery, result, or they've been unfortunate enough to have serious complications.

I've said this many times before; call me whatever you want.  Name calling doesn't intimidate me.  I don't care.  The facts are the facts.   Go back, look at the pages of posts...look at page 2 or 3 and count the daily posts...big difference.  Look at the other surgical forums, count the daily posts.

I like the format of OH vs LBT:  dozens of forums just for Lapband pts is too many.  I DO think OH should add a forum specific to Lapband troubles and one for Lapband newbies, moderate them heavily and boot out anyone who posts insensitively.

If someone has a band and is doing well, great.  Congrats...I wouldn't dream of telling them their band WILL fail.  If someone comes on here and is contemplating AGB and asks for help deciding, I'll share my story and that of others I know honestly and openly.  That should be ok.  I should be able to do that without being bullied and called names.  That's the problem here.

...since you normally deactivate after unblocking those of us who disagree with you, I guess that's the next predictable step...you'll be back inn about 3 months with a new ID ready to fight in defense of the band.

I think they have stepped in and addressed some of those people lately and that is why it is quiet here.

BAND REMOVED 9-4-12-fought insurance to get sleeve and won! Sleeved 1/22/13! Five years out and trying to get that last 15 pounds back off.

Alien abductions.

Prison sentences.

Wild orgies.

You must admit that it COULD be those things that are keeping people from posting.  kiss

The bandsters are gone and  no one knows where.

They're not over here in East Delaware.

Maybe they're busy getting anally probed!

Or perhaps they're at orgies becoming disrobed.

Are they in prison? If so, for what crimes?

Maybe for poetry that just barely rhymes? kiss

Let's write a "book" and charge four bucks.

See if people will even give two f****.

(They won't.)
