Going to See PS
Does anyone have stories of having a grade 4 or larger pannis removed?
What is your BMI? Most PS won't do surgery if you BMI is greater than 35. It only increases the risk of complications, wound openings and infections. I had my TT at over 200lbs. It was causing me great chronic back pain and I was living on Rx Naproxen. My Primary told me to get it done asap. I found a doctor who would do it for me and it weighed only 19lbs. Believe me, it will weigh a lot less than you think. Maybe yours will weigh 20, if you're lucky. Have you done the induction phase of Atkins? That is what I had to do to lose the rest of my weight. I have lost over 323 lbs now.
Is your insurance covering it? Or are you paying cash? My surgeon is the best and he works with WLS patients, so he knows our skin and how weak and fragile it is. I took 8 weeks off when I had my initial TT because I was so afraid of a complication. I really took care of myself and I had no problems.
Just keep searching for a PS until you find one who will take on your case. I do want to say that you will have to have a revision after you lose more weight. And if you find a doctor willing to do a panni removal, he most likely won't do your thighs and arms until you are at goal and stable. The thighs have the highest complication rate of all PS and it is not worth what could happen if you do have a complication. If I were you, I would focus on getting the panni removed only at this time, hopefully, PS will kick your metabolism into gear, (mine did!) and you can lose the rest of your weight. You shouldn't be passing out all of the time, have you had any blood tests done lately? Does your PCP know you have these spells?
12/09 and 6/11, 9 skin removal procedures with Dr. Sauceda in Monterrey Mexico
Revised to the Sleeve after losing 271 lbs with the LapBand.
You may want to check into another surgery that works with all you are doing right. I would do a revision and get where you want to be before PS. Unless you happy with you weight and just want to get that skin off. I don't think it weighs as much as you think unless you started in the 4/500 pound range.
