I see nothing has changed

I love all the input and comments that were posted here because it makes me feel like I'm not alone in this boat. Thanks to all of you for letting me know that you feel the same way I do. This board has lost its validity and not the best place to get information. When I joined so many years ago, there was a wealth of knowledge here and I depended on it for answers to my questions and feedback on everything pre op and post op. I recommended it more often than I recommended any other site but that's not the case today. The bickering and arguing and trashing each other's posts just isn't what I'm here for.
Its been a while since I was here and it will be a while before I come back.....if I ever come back at all.
I can't say that I understand where you're coming from. In your past posts, you've called the band a "CRAP BAND" in huge red letters. You've mentioned it several times from the posts I see.
I hate the band because it nearly killed me... and I post to try to help others who might be going through similar situations. The only time I "bicker" is when someone tells me that I shouldn't post about my experience. You'd think that people would want others to share their honest experiences. That's the one constant here, though... there's always going to be someone who comes on the forum and complains about it. They're doing themselves and others a disservice, though. Smart people can take the information, sort it out, file it away for future use, if needed, and look past the fact that someone's saying something that doesn't jibe with their own experience. Even I can do this... the band works for some people, obviously. And it damages others. It's good to know the whole story, though, in case someone's one of the "other people" that band complications only happen to.

I actually think this board is better than ever for getting the truth out and helping others who are struggling with a band that is harming them. I know you remember when anyone who complained about their band was beaten up by a lot of bandsters that had to end of eating their words, myself included.
If people want to argue with someone else's truth, so be it. A lot of misinformation gets sorted out this way.

It's definitely better in the sense that if someone is experiencing complications, they can find others who have gone through them or people who are currently going through them, for sure. I remember feeling so lonely when I was going through such pain... and everyone else was so happy with their bands. I felt like the only person in the world for whom the band didn't work. Of course, NOW I know how far from the truth that was. But it was like no one was "allowed" to speak ill of the band. And it was detrimental for a lot of us.

After Christmas my F-ing body took a **** and crashed, then I after I recovered from that I got a wild F-ing hair up my arse and thought it would be fun to get a 2nd job...Not only was it a F-ing full time job, it was from 10:00 PM to 7:00 AM job, and that was on top of my day job for F's sake
After a month of that crap, my body and health crashed again, and I was forced to resign my night job. I actually LOVED that night job, it was fun because I was an overnight stocker and it worked with my " Sleeping With The Enemy ", OCD loving arse. I LOVE to line stuff up in perfect rows, with all the labels facing forward. I hate housework, but am compelled to fold all my towels, shirts, pants, etc the same exact way, with all edges and corners perfectly aligned. I've been known to fold and refold until I get it just right, even the F-ing rags must be folded perfect.
Since then ( about 2 weeks now ) I've been recovering from Lap Band induced nerve pain, as well as playing catch up on housework and other domestic crap. My husband is excited to be a part of the food chain again, as I have actually cooked dinner twice this month...GO ME !
The good news is I am eligible for rehire. They really loved my OCD ways there, as well as my sparkling personality. Realistically, I would love to work no more then 12 hours a week there during the day shift and preferably right after I get off my other job.
I may not be around here much, but I still talk to people about the Lap Band. It is still my goal to get the FDA to recall it.
Sooo, how the hell are you ?
Wow, love that you found a positive outlet for your OCD!
I've been dealing with some issues that may or may not be band related. I took matters out of my band doctors hands and went to my gastroenterologist for a second opinion. After my unfill last June, I was still having issues with feeling stuck, losing meals, increasing reflux symptoms and developed major constipation. I attributed the constipation to intolerance of fresh veggies/fruit. I have had IBSd much of my adult life, but now seem to have IBSc. The drugs helped, minimally. Last week the doc put me on low fiber and scheduled a GSE for next week, as he suspects gastroparesis. He is very reluctant to recommend removing my band because a) I had an EGD showing its wide open and b) additional surgical insult could make gastrparesis worse.
I read up on GP and found that upper abdominal surgery of any kind can cause it, as can obesity, diabetes, intestinal viruses AND PPIs! Having been on P******ce 2001, with the exception of the year after WLS, a lightbulb went off in in my head. I'm only taking mine every third day and guess what...no reflux. I'm stepping down to every 4th day today. I'm still constipated on my no fiber diet, even with 2 amitiza ($90 copay), but I'm able to eat again...
I'm down almost 20 lb since my unfill...

I don't know anything about GP, but I'll read up on your GP just as soon as I hit the reply button, and as soon as I get back from picking up my daughter from work.
I no longer have the painful heart attack feeling stuck episodes, but I still experience periodic esophageal issues. They don't hurt, and I rarely have to force myself to upchuck my food in order to dislodge a 3 hour old food bolus.
CONGRATS on the 20 lb pound loss biotch.
