All I know about it is that that my ex-boss used them and couldn't stop crapping.

Does put a fly in the ointment, doesn't it.....

I take BP meds and Metformin, so I am not sure how it would effect me or at what amount.  Sometimes these studies use large amounts of the substance, so the results could be skewed.

I like the idea that they are high in fiber and that they give cereal an added crunch.  I am all about the crunch, especially with low carb.

Best bet is to check with your doctor.  I'm sure there are alternative sources for fiber/antioxidants...pomegranite?  The idea behind this is that they take up water in the GI tract making you feel full longer.
