What are you eating today or yesterday?
Well, things in my little corner of the world seem to be back to normal, if extremely cold. If you can call living with 9 dogs is normal. The other day I told a coworker that our house is a glorified dog kennel, and that's no exaggeration.
Today's food plan:
B: protein latte
S: steel cut oatmeal w/ banana
S: ricotta cheesecake fluff w/ blueberry fiber crisps
L: sesame-orange shrimp, braised cabbage
S: apple, Havarti cheese
S: raw sugar snap peas
D: roast pork, roasted parmesan green beans
S: cinnamon-oat breakfast cookie
The sesame-orange shrimp were wonderful, and I wanted very much to eat more than 3 of them, but I just couldn't. Which of course is the whole idea of WLS, but since I've been a WLS patient since 9/19/07, it just goes to show you that my obese brain persists in wanting more food regardless of what my body wants.
This morning's workout will be a yoga/Pilates class.
Have a super day!
Jean

Hi Jean,
Wow you can eat a whole banana with your Sleeve? Honestly I am dumb founded how the Sleeve works, many say they eat WAY more than a typical lap bander but they lose a lot of weight? How can this be? There has to be "something else" going on why Sleevers are able to lose a lot of weight? Is it really the "Dumping syndrome" that keep you from eating sweets?
Typically most lap banders with optimal restriction can't eat a whole banana or a whole apple, I know I could not, also on another board about 3 years ago there was a girl with the Sleeve and she mentioned she could eat 2 eggs and 3 slices of bacon for breakfast and she was ONLY 3 months out......I have not heard back from her in a few years, but if I COULD EAT THAT MUCH...there is no way I could lose weight with the Sleeve -- to me, that's just like a diet and I am not great at dieting long term.
Anyway, don't have much restriction at all right now and I can eat anything I want, I hope my second fill bring me some restriction.
Breakfast: 2 slices of Bacon, 1 whipped yogurt
Lunch: tuna salad, with crackers.
Dinner: coleslaw, baked beans, 3 ounces barbecue chicken
Original Lap Band * 9/30/2005 * 4cc 10cm band*, lost 130 pounds. 7 Great years!
Revision surgery to AP small lap band *11/13/2012*, due to large hiatal hernia. I am hopeful about continuing my band journey uneventful and successful. I loved what my old band did for me and I am looking forward for my new band to Keep my weight down
No, I can't eat a whole banana. I can eat a few slices. It's soft so I could probably eat a bit more, but that would make me dump.
I think in the past I've included a disclaimer with my daily menus and will try to do that every time I post it in the future to avoid confusion. All I can eat of solid food is 3-4 bites. After living with my sleeve for 5 months, I've given up worrying about how many ounces that is. So when I say that I'm going to eat tuna salad n for lunch, it's safe to assume that I'll eat 3-4 bites of it. If I'm going to eat crackers with the tuna, it might be 2-3 crackers.

Oh..ok, that for the explanation Jean...you had made me more confused about the Sleeve. Some people say they can't eat but a few teaspoons and some say they can eat 2 eggs and a few slices of bacon and toast...lol....
It seems like your Sleeve is working great for you. I think I could lose weight with the Sleeve if I had that type of restriction and I would get mildly sick if I ate too much sugar. Honestly, I think I could use some negative reinforcement right now...I am eager for some restriction! I've been without good restriction now for about 2 years!

You must feel like you're starting all over at Day 1, trying to adjust to your new band. I've heard quite a few people who had their bands repositioned or replaced say that nothing is the same after the 2nd surgery. So frustrating!

Huh. Something about you seems so familiar...what could it be? Why do I feel that way when I don't know who you are or even how long you've belonged to OH? Another internet mystery.
If I knew who you are, I would invite you to visit Hillbilly Heaven. We could share some meals and you could interview my family, friends and coworkers in order to get an honest account of how much I eat. In the meantime, I guess you'll have to take my word for it.

My go**** is good to see you again Jean. They must have fixed the frayed string between the soup cans, finally. It is cold here, too, but as of Sat. we will go down to the mid-teens for a week. You will not find me going out for any walks. I may have to resort to cleaning the unused rooms in out upstairs for exercise! Only if I am desperate, I might add.
B. Multi grain hot cereal with milk
S. Shake
L. Chili with beans
S. Almonds and Craisens
D. Chicken thighs in the crock pot with ranch seasoning and cream cheese.
S. Wasa crackers and peanut butter
It would have to be deep despair or extreme boredom to send me on a house cleaning mission. Especially with all my canine assistants underfoot.
However, they hate the sound of the vacuum cleaner. I hate using the vacuum cleaner, but it might be worth starting it up and leaving it standing in a corner until the noise drove the dogs out of the house for a while.

It will be deep despair if it gets so cold I can't get out! My alternative to cleaning would be to get income tax stuff around and ours happen to be no less than a two day project with many headaches.
Our dumb dog gets ready to play when I drag out the vacuum cleaner. He grabs one of his toys, out of the basket because he couldn't possibly run and get a toy already lying around. Then he plants himself about 3 ft. away and when I turn it on he runs back and forth in front no matter which direction while all the while shaking the tar out of his toy. I guess it is cheap entertainment. I have tried sneaking but he knows the sound of the wheels.
