I have become very peculiar! There are certain things that we do to prepare for our WLS , we have to give up carbonated drinks, chew out food well, no drinking water or anything with our meals etc...
But those are things we will have to do forever, and honestly we all know those are really good habits to have in place anyway.

Butttttt.....I have noticed as of lately, that I have created some of my own "rules"!
For instance, I have a ritual of eating he same breakfast every morning, plain non fat Greek yogurt with 1 strawberry in it, sprinkled with my fiber cereal and almonds. Very healthy! But, I must eat it with this desert spoon, with the long handle and the base of the spoon is smaller than a teaspoon. And every bite I take must have 1 almond at every bite!
I have been during this every day for the last 5 years!!!!!!! Crazy? My family looks at me like I am a little "off".

Sooo I have come clean with just one of my little "peculiarities", your turn!
What do you find yourself doing that someone looking on might find to be , "strange"?

Hmmm. Nothing that's outright weird comes to mind, but a former coworker used to watch me eat my tiny lunch out of a tiny Rubbermaid container and say, "Miss Jean, I don't know why you even bother to eat!"

Have you seen the new Walgreens commercial where the crazy lady tears apart/mutilates the powdered donut and throws it???

Well I am the same way, I have been known to eat a portion and them DESTROY the rest, whether I put it down the garbage disposal, pour salt or chile all over it, etc..

My coworkers think I am crazy I will want a candy or something bad and will take one or two bites and completely destroy the rest! Or I will go and order ice cream say from costco and ask then to only fill it 1/4 of the way.

I have also been known to say how DELICIOUS something is like a boring salad when clearly it is not but I have to talk myself into it!

Everything about my eating is a little peculiar.  I have always had weird eating habits.  Like I can't have my food touch...ever!!!  I have all kinds of food rules and always have.  Like bacon is breakfast food and doesn't belong on my hamburger...mostly because I of another rule...I don't mix my meats (no eating beef with pork...yuck).  One meat at a time.   I don't like trying new food...ever.  It's like a fear I have.  I like everything plain...my burgers, pizza, sandwiches...so on.  I don't like stuff on my stuff.  I don't like soups or salads....probably because the food is touching.  I also have this desire to eat my food in alphabetical order...but I stopped doing that in favor of eating protein first...but I still want to do it!!!  I'm telling you I am full of weird quirkiness when it comes to food!!!  I have been told I have a slight form of "selective eating disorder" if you look it up I have a very much like those people.  Except I like fruit and I have tried to be more open to food...but it's very hard for me.

I too eat the same thing for breakfast everyday...one egg with blue berries.  I try to vary it but I just don't like it, it doesn't feel natural...and I end up going back to my old food.  And everyday at work I eat cottage cheese and almonds  (14=100 calories) and 3 strawberries for lunch.  The only thing I vary is dinner and even that is usually chicken..I really don't mind eating the same thing everyday.  In fact I crave it.  My after workout snack is always peanut butter with 4 apple slices.  I only drink three things...green tea, crystal light (appletinin), or plain water.  That's it nothing else.  The thing I have to trouble controling is the desire to eat junk food and fast food.

Maybe obesity should be reclassified as an obsessive-compulsive disorder?  Just kidding, but something to think about...I think I obsess about food more now than before;  will it go down?  Will it stay down.  Is there a bathroom nearby?  Will they have food I can eat?

I follow band rules, but my band doesn't, lol.

I had a business meeting to go to so I tried to eat my breakfast fast. When I got to the meeting they offered me coffee. I took a couple of drinks and started gurgling( very Loudly). Everyone tried to act like they could not hear it, but it was just too loud. I finally said "excuse me, I've had lapband surgery and sometimes am very tight in the mornings.

One of the young guys in the meeting said Wow you would be very popular in a fraternity, can you drink beer. I was a little embarrassed at first, but after we laughed about it the meeting went on.
