I love my band and I am almost 2 years out! I am down 95 pounds and still working my band by the rules!

More positive posts would be nice on this board.

I have not been on here in a looooooooooooooong time. I am a little over 3 years out. I have no problems with the band. I have problems with my own choices. When it comes down to it this happens with any surgery since it alters our bodies but not our mind.  I have gotten stuck maybe 4 times and they were all my fault. I didn't chew enough and ate the wrong things. I take responsibility for it. I lost 64 lbs initially and have gained 28 back. I admit I am not exercising and am not able to at times due to Rheumatoid Arthritis and Fibromyalgia. I feel successful because in the past I would have gained all the weight back and more. The band was the right choice for me due to medications and prior surgeries. And yes, I would still choose it.

Hi:  I would like too thank you all.  I am considering the Lap Band Surgery.  I want to lose weight, and I am having a terrible time doing it.  I've read so many people posting that it dosen't work, and they  have had it removed.  I was getting scared.  I'm not willing to do the more radical surgeries.  I'm going to continuing to research, and of course talk with my doctor.

I'm so glad too read that some people have had long term success

Well, now I feel like I should chime in as well!

I am a little over 5 years out and doing great. I have been working to re-lose the weight I gained when I got pregnant with my daughter (thanks to the lap-band, by the way, because the weight loss eliminated my PCOS). It was slow going post-baby for a while because I wasn't doing intensive gym workouts like I used to, but now I am have been back at the gym for a couple months and the results have been fantastic.

Knock on wood, I've never had any issues with my band. Sure, sometimes I eat some sort of meat or fish that's too dry and it gets stuck, but my band is in great shape. I feel totally positive about getting back down to my lowest post-band weight or even lower (unless of course, we decide to have another child, then that goal will be post-poned.)

Keep posting here ladies!  I don't come here so often but when I do I love hearing from the successful Bandsters, just knowing there are still some out there is reassuring!  Thank you!
