Happy New Year, BandBuddies!
And may 2013 bring us all happiness, health and prosperity!
I wanted to share an idea that was been brought up on FB a lot in the last week or so, something I think I will start as soon as I get off the computer. It's called a "happiness jar", "joy jar", "Year of Blessings in a Jar" and so on. The idea is that you "Start the year with an empty jar and fill it with notes about good things that happen. On New Year's Eve, empty it and see what awesome stuff happened that year."
The last 4 years have been a complete suck-fest for me, but I do realize that there have been a lot of magical, mystical, bright moments in there as well, and I think it will do me good to be reminded of them. So I am starting my jar off with this:
My lapband road has had its bumps and potholes, but here I sit, 9+ years out, still down 170 pounds from when my journey began, which is more than the 50 pounds I would have been satisfied with and more than the 100 pounds I dreamed of.
I'd be interested to see who starts one as well, and what your first blessing might be.
Happy New Year Bette!!!!
I LOVE this idea!!!!! I plan to start one myself! I love this cause it's so easy to find the littlest things to complain about, and we forget to acknowledge all those lil things in our lives.
So now I just gotta dig out my old mayo jar thats sits way back of my fridge, ya know the one with that crusty **** on it!
I think I will get hubby in on it, as we will be celebrating our 30th anniversary this month.
lets see, hmmmmm, how about this?
"Thankful for not having killed my hubby after 30 d$#$% years together?!" Oh, wait, I still have time, anything can happen, as its towards the end of the month officially! LOL
All kidding aside, I do plan to do this. Thanks for sharing this wonderful idea Bette!
