THURSDAY GRATEFUL POST
Good Morning Everyone,
It's almost friday and it is 5 days till Christmas Day. Less than 2 weeks till we all begin a new year. How are things going for everyone? Hopefully very good. We all have so very many many things in our lives to be grateful for whether we realize it or not. Today I am grateful for waking up this AM, that I am healthy, that I have a warm home and food and all the necessities that you need to live life. I am grateful for my family and friends.....grateful for my Faith in God and grateful that I had WLS. For you who are pre op.....Life is NOT perfect after WLS....it is what YOU make it. It is up to you after you have WLS and after you lose the weight to keep it off. I am not going to lie to anyone....it is VERY HARD !!! Maybe not so much in the beginning....but several years preop...so many people turn back to their old habits ( particularly this time of year with all the rich., fattening foods ). Please after you have your WLS....and after that honeymoon time is over....do NOT turn back to food for comfort. That is just a word of advice to everyone. I am 7 yrs. post op RNY and I had a re-gain and still do have part of it. I've been working very very hard to get it off. It does NOT come off after the honeymoon period as easy as it did when you were newly post op. That is just a word of advice and I usually do NOT give advice openly on the message boards. But if I can keep one person from gaining 5 or 10 lbs. during the holiday's and getting discouraged....then it will be worth it. Have a plan everyday and stick to that plan. If your going to a holiday party or gathering......be prepared. If you need to take your food with you that you know you can eat. Life is hard enough and we are our own worse enemy when it comes to beating ourself up for something. SO please take my advice to heart from someone who has been there and done that. LOL PLEASE share if you will what you are grateful for today. Have a blessed thursday.
