If you are getting your band removed, make sure your surgeon is EXTREMELY experienced

Many people who've had their bands removed always say that the band is removal, but not "reversible", I think this depends on if the surgeon "removes" all the damage, aka...adheshions, and repair any hiatal hernias, etc., after they remove the band. If they leave you high and dry and have to rip out the band and damage tissues, I am sure this would leave people in misery.
I am SURE I would still be in misery and suffering if my current surgeon had not cleaned up all that mess when he replaced my new band. Many Bypass folks suffer pain from adhesions, not sure if it's because they have to "move things around more than other surgeries" and this can affect anyone that has had ANY TYPE of surgery, regardless if it's band, sleeve or bypass. But I hear many bypass folks complain about adhesions and have severe stomach pains from all the adhesions that their surgeons probably did not clean up.
So if you are thinking about getting your band removed, make sure you talk to your surgeon about cleaning up and fixing any hidden hernia's or adhesions that you probably have.
Not only was my band reversible, I am sure that I would be back to normal if I would have opted to just remove my band and not get a replacement.
I thank my new surgeon every day for fixing me.
