Hi Banders...I just wanted to ask if anyone has had to give up their couple cups of coffee  every day due to night time acid reflux ? If you did because it gave you acid reflux at night did it help?

The only thing that gives me nighttime reflux is eating too late.

As Bette says. I have at least one latte a day, often two.. But I avoid it at night.

I drink about 3-4 cups day or night. The only thing that gave me reflux was my band being too tight

I have 1-2 lattes every day, in the morning because later in the day the caffeine interferes with my sleep. I haven't noticed any effect of coffee on reflux. When I was banded, nighttime reflux was a sign that my band was too tight. Now it happens if I eat too close to bedtime.

But having said all that...if your doctor told you to give up coffee because of reflux, have you given it a try? I love my coffee but my hatred of reflux completely cancels that out. Maybe you could switch to decaf for a few weeks to see if that helps?

If I drink coffee after 2pm, I do usually have problems at night with reflux.  My doctor would prefer I do not drink it all.  But it is the one thing I just really enjoy.  Do to it affecting my sleep, I have switched to decaf or halfcaf in the afternoons.

I drink my coffee every day (lol DARE someone to stand between my coffee and I) Only reflux issues I had was band too tight. Be careful and don't get talked into leaving fluid in that should come out.  I even get my first protein in my coffee each am. :)

I am a work in progress...perhaps never completed or perfected; but forever working to change for the better...

I was told I couldn't ever have coffee after being banded.  So, I didn't and had acid reflux at night towards the end, even after the fill was taken out.

Now I'm unbanded, I'm drinking coffee/ice tea by the buckets.
