Another way to help Newtown is to make a donation to the Newtown Volunteer Ambulance Corps (EMS). They are raising money for a larger building that will allow them to conduct first aid, CPR and EMT courses, and will allow them to staff 24-hours with a paramedic, which they are unable to do in their current building. They are able to provide Basic Life Support (BLS) but not Advanced Life Support (ALS) without having at least minimal bunk space available and must contract out the ALS/Paramedic staff for their needs.

We have been contacted by a great number of persons and agencies wishing to help in some way. Those wishing to make donations to Newtown Volunteer Ambulance Corps, can use the Donate Button in the left-hand column or can be mailed to our P.O. Box.
Currently the NVAC has three ambulances available to provide Basic Life Support (BLS) service. In order to provide advanced life support (ALS) to our community, NVAC contracts for a paramedic to be housed 24/7 in our garage to respond to ALS calls.
