Gastroenterologist Appointment
I had my visit with my gastroenterologist today. I've been seeing him for about 10 years for IBS and my colonoscopies and wanted to get an unbiased opinion re my "band" issues. Prior to my visit, I had all my records from the band doctor/hospital sent to him, including radiology, labs, surgical reports.
He recommended an EGD to rule out erosion, so that is scheduled for 12/6. He Rx lubiprostone for the IBS related constipation and feels that 90% of my symptoms the last year are the result of the band aggravating my IBS and IBS irritating the band...a viscious circle of sorts. He says that he suspects that I'm having spasms (stomach and esophogeal) and wrote an Rx for that as well.
He is optimistic that I won't need additional surgery in the near future.
