So how did YOU handle your Thanks Giving?
We focused on taking pictures and making memories!!!!!! It was almost PERFECT! With us all being a lil dysfunctional ( heck lots of dysfunctional families in the bible, so we aren't sooo bad), it was still a wonderful Thanks giving!
So my question to you, "How did you handle Thanks Giving?"

Good for you. As for me I worked hard to help my daughter with dinner preparation and at the meal I ate a small helping of everything (except for squash and dinner rolls) but found that turkey won't work with me just yet. I even got 2 small bites of stuffing in because it is my favorite. Later I had about a 1/16 slice of pecan pie. That went down slicker than snot. No hang up there. I wasn't hungry in the evening so I just had some protein puffs and tea.
Good job Grannymedic!
sometimes all that time doing all the preparations can zap ya!

I was very good. Ate on a small plate, mostly proteins, had a tiny taste of delicious dressing, but only a tiny taste because I know will get stuck in large doses. When my husband finished his plate, I had him take off my plate before getting seconds because I knew had put too much food on it and wouldn't fini**** all. So it worked out well. I was only sick when I accidentally forgot myself and drank too quickly after eating, two minor episodes, just reminding me that I should pay more attention and just not have a glass in front of me at meal times. I was dehydrated from earlier, so I attempted to pour water down my gullet too much at once apparently, which made the belly revolt again. After all that, I was fine by bedtime though.
Did terrible. I went with the intention of eating right, except on Thanksgiving. Even brought some stuff on my program to my parents. Well, I got there and it all went to hell in a hand basket. I am afraid to get on the scale. The upside is I have resolved to get back on track, and today has been great. I think there are foods I need to just stay away from for good. I am resolved to do much better at Christmas.

It happens, so you learn from this experience and plan and expect to do better. Holidays are rough training ground. So glad you found your resolve.

I feel I did fine because I saved Thanksgiving as my cheat day. I give myself 1 cheat day a month where I can have a guilt free splurge. Here's what I had...
I had Turkey (don't ask how much...it was a normal amount), about a 1/2 cup carrots, and about a 1/4 cup of mostaccolli...all measurements are approximent...it's not like I measured at the table...I eyeballed it.
Here's where I chose to splurge...
I had 2 BIG pieces of chocolate caramel cheesecake..with chocolate cookie crust...mmmm it was sooo yummy!!!
And you know what I didn't feel a bit guilty about it because it was my SPLURGE DAY!!!!
Not to mention I exercised the day before and every day after...but then again I always exercise...
Hi Crystal!
"Not to mention I exercised the day before and every day after...but then again I always exercise..."
I love seeing this! I think it is sooooo vitally important that exercise be a part in all our journeys, should never even be an after thought. I am the same way about that!

My Thanksgiving day went as planned.
We had a protein-packed breakfast of eggs/sausage and then made the drive up to my sister's house.
While there, I had a little turkey, and then about 2 Tablespoons each of stuffing, potato, sweet potato, corn casserole, pink salad (fruit, jello concoction that is a family tradition).
When it came time for pie, I got out my little container of Pumpkin Spice pudding that I had brought --- yum.
I kept it to just the one meal ---- after that, we went home and the weekend was normal eating.
We ate out to celebrate the anniversary of our first date and I had a large glass of Pinot Grigio --- but no other liquid calories all weekend -- so, it was a success!!
I stuck to my exercise goals, too --- at least 30 minutes a day, more like 60+ most of the days.
