I would not think that would cause you bloating or burping, have you had a recent fill or have you had your band checked lately? Also bloating and burping are signs of gastritis/GERD, I would stop the Equal and see if it stops, if not I would have my band checked out.
Good luck.
Original Lap Band * 9/30/2005 * 4cc 10cm band*, lost 130 pounds. 7 Great years!
Revision surgery to AP small lap band *11/13/2012*, due to large hiatal hernia. I am hopeful about continuing my band journey uneventful and successful. I loved what my old band did for me and I am looking forward for my new band to Keep my weight down
I've never used Equal, but a few years ago I started having excess gas problems and asked a bariatric dietitian if that could be a sign of lactose intolerance. She said yes, but it could also be a reaction to the artificial sweeteners I was using. At the time, that was mostly Splenda. I switched to Truvia (a stevia product) and that did seem to help, but I still had symptoms. Eventually I started taking a probiotic called Lactose Defense and that helps a lot.
