Can anyone tell me about a good protein powder?  I cant seem to find one that I like the taste of except the Adkins shakes and I heard you cannot have those until 3 months post op.  So far i have tried the Aria Womens Protein but it tastes like chalk.  Any recommendations would be appreciated.

I gag at some, too. Many people like premier protein ready to drinks, my hubbie loves the chocolate but it gags me. Unjury chicken soup is a good one if you want something savory, and I have been liking Syntrex Fuzzy Navel mixed with orange Crystal Light. They have a lot of different flavors including a roadside lemonade, caramel mocha, etc. Unjury and the syntrex have sample packages you can get to try them out before buying a whole big container. One source for the Syntrex is Amazon. I buy it at my surgeons office, they sell it at their cost which is cheaper than I can get on the manufactures web site.

Find one you like because you will be having it after fills, too.

Good luck

I like the ready made broken heart EAS Advantage Edge Carb Control

in Rich Dark Chocolate!!! Yummy!!!!

My husband even likes it and he doesnt have WLS!

It has 17 grams of protien, no sugar and 110 calories!!!

You can get it at Publix, or Walmart. We usually get it at Walmart cause its cheaper there.

Also, broken heart  "Oh YeaH", has a ready made protien drink, tastes like YOHOO chocolate milk!!!! Comes in 2 sizes.

and all the flavors are da bomb!!!!!!!  Body Alive, and Vitamin Shopp , carry it. They tend to keep single bottles in their fridge so you can purchase one and try it before committing to a whole box. If you buy a case, they will allow you to mix up your case with other flavors.

I  perfer the smaller size, because getting 32 grams of protein  in one setting is not necessary, you end up ******g it out! Your body will only allow so much protein in at one time.

Good luck,

i like the GNC Pro Performance. It's low in carbs (only 5g per servings) and has 20g of protein per serving/scoop. I like the chocolate caramel a lot as well as the vanilla that I mix with orange juice for a creamcicle-type shake.  Doesn't mix so well with milk, but mixes great with juice drinks and with smoothies, and also just plain ice cold water that i keep refridgerated. priced pretty decently as well.

Prior to getting surgery I received some great advice.  I was told to find a protein shake that I liked.  I spent soooo much money on different protein powders.  I have a big gag reflex and am very particular with taste/texture/smell.  I do not know how I got so fat with this problem.  LOL  However, after trying ALOT of different powders, I fell in love with Syntha-6.  I get it at Vitamin World.  I have one of each flavor and I love them all.  It doesn't have a bad after taste or smell.  My favorite is the chocolate or mochachinno.  If you are a coffee drinker, take the mochachinno and mix with coffee and ice.  It is delicious!  I was unable to have protein shakes while I was pregnant due to the high levels of vitamins and such.  I actually craved these shakes as crazy as it was.  Everybody is different though, so keep trying to find one you enjoy.  Something I was told after buying a lot is that most places will let you sample them prior to buying them.  Vitamin World will mix you up a shake very happily before making the purchase.

Unjury chocolate classic is still my favorite, it has over 21 gm protein, taste like Nestle Quick and yummy with water or skim milk. I order from Unjury.com, it is usually on my door step the next day. 1 cannister last me about 1 month, cost about $22 dollars. To me, it taste MUCH BETTER than ANY WALMART or that Whey protein mess or any other protein drinks I purchase at the store. It only has 80 calories and with skim milk 180, I lost weight quickly with this since it's yummy to drink and high in protein and low calories.

Good luck.
