Hi G, Nice to meet you also.

I too decided to keep it for the most part private.  I told a few close friends, and my parents incase of an emergency.  I told my youngest son, to be perfectly honest, he's the only one that keeps in contact with me.  Everyone I told knows to keep it close to their chest.  Already know I have many acquaintances that have nose problems, but its none of their business.  No big deal if they do find out, but its just my preference.

Roger on the pain meds.  Talked to Docs office yesterday, and they told me if I can deal without, great.  Less  is better.  But keep  up on Reglan and an other elixir not for pain as it controls gas, bloating, constipation, etc.  Today doing lots better.  Even got out of the house to the local hobby shop for a few helicopter parts.  Something to keep mind and hands busy is good, specially if its me.  A mischievous mind is a terrible thing to waste......kiss

Lap Band on 11/05/12

Hello all,

I too just had my lap band put on 11/5/12. I also had an umbilical hernia and hiatal hernia repaired as well. I've had 2 c sections before so I knew about the BM situation. I had to wait a week and finally things are moving along nicely. The gas pain in my shoulder was painful and that too has subsided dramatically. I saw my doctor for the 1st week checkup and everything is good. I felt really down and crappy at first. The gallstone preventative medicine has a side effect of hair loss and I've had horrible breath. So I had visions of being thin but being bald and having bad breath to add to the fear of the dreaded hanging skin. The DR says they have to put the warning on every possible side effect and that it's not a given and that the breath thing is the fat burning and the medicines and that I need to drink more water to flu**** out and hang in there til I lose the weight. He also mentioned that surgery tends to tip the hormones and make you a little crazy. I'm happy to say I past that quickly and am feeling 80% myself. Still bloated and tender and I take 1 pain med to help me sleep as well. I am glad to see I am not alone in many of the things I am experiencing. I'm glad to be making this journey and thank you all for your input and words of wisdom I have read and will continue to read.

Regards, Donna
