X-Post: A Fond Farewell/Goodbye Band, Hello Sleeve!
Congrats I'm always so glad to see anyone who can revise from the band. We were all sold a big bill of goods on that one. I think you'll find the sleeve much more accomodating than the band. From what I've read the sleeve is pretty rough the first month but after that life gets sooo much better. Best of luck on your new journey!!!
I traded my Band in for my Sleeve on the 24th of Sept! NO regrets! I love love love my Sleeve! I love being about to eat chicken breast without getting stuck! I love being able to eat a quarter piece of toast in the morning with my egg and feeling satiated.
I'm very happy! I have had not one problem adjusting!
Lost 271lbs with my LapBand in 22 months! My Band malfunctioned and I gained almost 42lbs and then revised to the Sleeve 9/24/12! I lost another 140 lbs with my Sleeve! Loved the LapBand and Lovin' The Sleeve!
I truly loved my band and mourned it when I had to revise. I had been so sure that if I treated mine carefully I would keep it forever. I still miss a lot about it. I have gotten comfortable with my sleeve, though at almost 3 months out I struggle to get enough protein without a ton of shakes, etc. and really miss being able to quench my thirst. With my band I could drink about 6 oz. at a time, Ms. Sleeve doesn't let me down more that 2 moderate swallows at a time. That is not enough to satisfy me. It takes me constant attention to get my fluids. If I get to working on something and forget for a while or, heaven forbid, take a nap or sleep in I get way behind and often can't catch up.
I am glad you are doing well other than the hematoma. I am sorry you had to lose your band but you will adapt to your sleeve. Watch for dumping syndrome. Jean M. gets it badly and I get it when I have too much sugar, (I was only about 15 pounds of regain so needed the calories for quite a while). Wow, talk about feeling crummy! Jean has problems with extreme hunger, I don't, though I do get hungry.
Hope you will stop back here occasionally.
Sue
It is so good to see you! I wondered where you were. Story...Ditto!
Last straw was having to have the Disney bus stop (I was alone with two grandsons 3&6). So I could throw up as I was stuck, from drinking water. (I had just had an unfill too)
You all need to join the band to sleeve group so we can get it hoping. There are enough of us if we all get together. Seems to be lots from when I was getting banded here getting banded.
