3 year surgiversary

hopeful and happy

Hi all, OH got me through my first year of surgery, but I rarely come back anymore, even though I swore I would be a Bette or Jean, and be here to support newbies, daily, for life . Oops. But last weekend I had my 3 year anniversary and wanted to come back and give my thanks for this surgery and offer some inspiration for others.

I am under 5 feet tall, and my starting weight was just over 200lbs. Today I am 137. Yep, I should be lower, but I am in no ru**** comes slow and steady and I am thrilled. I have no doubt that when I hit 40 years old in 2 years that I will be at my goal weight.

Do I have complications? No, not really. I throw up some times, but it's almost always because I made the mistake of eating too big of a bite because i was hungry or not chewing enough. It is NOT fun to throw up--especially in public, and every day is still a learning process. I just had an upper GI to check in on the band, and it is perfectly placed. I got to see my teeny tiny pouch and it was a great reminder that I don't need much food at all to fill up an egg sized pouch.

Anyway, I don't always make the best choices--I totally ate Halloween candy this week(!!!), but there is literally no way I would be at the weight I am at without the band. I am on my iPad now, so there is no way to post pictures, but I will try to get some up later!

Happy bandiversary! Thanks for coming back to share your success story.

Seeing your little pouch on an x-ray is a great visual reminder of how little food you need at each meal. Maybe you could it printed out and paste it on your refrigerator door!
