removing restriction

if you're pregnant with the lapband/realize band system (it's only a hypothetical question), do they take all the restriction out at once, a bit at a time, or do they leave some restriction in? does it depend on what you want or does it depend on your particular surgeon? just curious.

You might want to post this on the pregnancy forum, and give the thread a title like Pregnancy & Band Unfills.

Well I'm waaaay past those days but from what I've read here it varies some docs want it completely emptied and some play it by ear. I'd say as long as it doesn't bother you it would be helpful to keep weight gain down but you do want to make sure you are getting enough nutrition for both of you (hypothetically kiss).

I think it varies, too, based on your ability to eat and stay hydrated.

Some surgeons want to take out all fluid for any surgery, too...but my surgeon left it up to me and I have had 2 plastic surgeries without touching the fluid in my band.

I have a really good amount of fluid now and didn't want to mess with it.
