Thanks hun! I am going to do this for myself anyway. Sometimes we just need a cleanse, a detox. A couple of weeks before and when my Mom passed I used food in the sense that I just couldn't eat - my punishment in some sense because she loved food and was put on a feeding tube. Then a couple of weeks after her death I comforted myself the way I knew how - the way she comforted me too with food (gosh I love my Mama). I've been stuck in that mode. I am not eating a lot per se but it is just at random and feels "out-of-control".
Sorry to pour out but it always helps me to put it out there. I will update how my journey goes even if no one joins me. Basically the 5 day pouch test detoxes you from carbs. I am a honey wheat pretzel hog - one serving at a time.
Have a fantastic day.
Sorry about your Mom. Losing my brother and Dad 1&2 years ago sent me off the deep end.
Well, I can join you there. I need to do 48-96 hours carb free to break the cycle. Oh, what a bad carb cycle I have been on since last weekend. Gained 9 pounds in 48 hours and 5 of it stuck. I'm up 9 pounds solid since losing my band.
I just realized the yummy PBThins I bought in Atlanta have 13g carbs in a 22g serving
When are you starting?
The cycle of life right! Sorry about your loss too!
Monday . . . after a trip to Caputo's bakery on Sunday morning . The Italian bread is incredible there - oh my, I can smell the crispy carved seeded all around right now. I'm such a foodie! I'll have the shakes from withdrawal during the first 2 days after such an overload of carbohydrates.
I would love to do this with you. I have 6 years out and have lost 80 and gained 30 back but I haven't eaten good in about 4 years so I want to get started again and this will be a good start me, however, I have forgotten most of everything I learned and did in the beginning. Can you remind me what I need to do with the pouch test? tHANKS
Could I join you? I was banded in 2005, and never really worked like I should have. My weight has stayed essentially the same, going up and down a bit as I continue to eat around the band. I believe I have some restriction, and want to begin to use the band like I need to. I had heard of the "pouch test" before, but this will be the first time I do it. Thanks so much!
